![]() Here’s how to get Yoshi in Super Mario Sunshine as part of Super Mario 3D All-Stars. But you’ve gotta unlock him the old fashioned way, by playing through the game. In fact, you can actually ride him like you always thought you’d be able to in 3D. Oh you didn’t get all 120 Stars so you could visit Yoshi atop Peach’s Castle? That’s OK (neither did I), the next game in the series makes the quest to get Yoshi much simpler. You need to get it just right.Remember the end of Super Mario 64? No, not when you beat Bowser, I’m talking about the very end of the game when Yoshi shows up. This isn't as easy to do as it sounds because if you press L too early or too late, it won't work. Since you stop in mid-air when you ground pound, and since Yoshi stops in mid-air for a little bit after you dismount him, you go back onto him. How to do this: After you jump with Yoshi, press X to dismount Yoshi and then press L right after to do a ground pound. I hover backwards because Yoshi hovers faster backwards, and hovering forwards would take a very long time. This method is probably the fastest method only if you can succeed on the first attempt. Since Yoshi can't swim, you'd normally need to jump on numerous boats that move across the waters of Isle Delfino to get there, or you can use a glitch that involves jumping through a building, which is faster. This is a video of me flutter jumping to the lonely island with Yoshi.
